Housing Pattern Books
Housing Pattern books are tools which can help local developers and residents reduce the time and soft costs required to build new housing by providing downloadable drawings by a licensed architect that can be used to jumpstart a project. In recent years, pattern books have become a common tool in housing efforts; however, many do not fit U.P. communities for various reasons.

Thanks to funding by the Central Upper Peninsula Regional Housing Partnership (RHP), Housing Now is able to provide two potential housing models in our first pattern book initiative: a single-story with two bedrooms and a two-story with three bedrooms. Both are approximately 1,200 square feet of living space and designed to be cost effective by using common dimensions and shapes.

These are not 100% complete drawings; they have been intentionally designed to leave some choices around internal mechanical systems to you and your chosen contractor. But they have been reviewed by building and zoning officials in Negaunee (Marquette County) and Iron Mountain (Dickinson County) and should meet standard lots in those communities at the time of development based on internal and external design. The specific lot you select for your project may require adjustments, and any design changes you choose to pursue may affect permitting, engineering, and construction costs.

Thanks to ongoing partnerships, physical copies of these drawings may be printed at the U.P. Home Builders Association in Marquette.

Thank you to the Central Upper Peninsula Regional Housing Partnership for their financial support of this project. Thanks to their support, these resources are available across our region.
